On the street people call me Flame, because of the hideous burn marks I have all over my right side. Others may know me as Zane McGowan the poor teen who lost his parents nine years ago, to a house fire that could never be explained. Growing up I heard the whispers, people think I was the one who set the house on fire.
At seventeen I left the foster home I was placed in, and for two years I fought in an underground arena earning money so I could survive. Now at nineteen I'm the number one fighter, no one can beat me some have come close but none have done it.
Being number one has it's perks the ladies love my blonde hair and my chocolate brown eyes, but that all changes when they noticed my scarred side plus see how aggressive, stubborn and hot headed. [x][[x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X][x][X]X] "AND THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS, A FIGHT TO THE FINISH AND HERE'S WINNER. FLAME!" Yelled the announcer into an old looking microphone from inside of a steel box, but his announcement fell on deaf ears as spectators roared in triumph as Flame knocked his opponent unconscious. Letting the ref raise his arm in victory the blond only smirked at the crowed before disappearing into the locker room, before any of his twisted fans asked for his autograph. slipping on his hooded leather jacket without zipping it up, grabbing his duffel bag he swung it over his shoulder and exited the room. Riding on the rickety elevator heaven wards Flame kept his eyes closed as he listened to the cheers down below, scoffing silently as he got off as a raunchy couple got on. Bowing his head he walked the semi deserted street towards his rundown apartment, it had taken him only ten minutes to walk there. Entering he walked up three flights of stairs before walking down a dirty hallway, passing by doors that each held different smells and noises. Taking a sideways glance at the door before his he noticed that the police tape was cut, and that the door had a brand new lock on it. Which meant that the landlord had finally found someone to but the place, or he was trying to put it on the market. But not thinking too much of it he opened his door and switched on the light, and then made his way into the shower but before he took a step in his cracked tiled tub he made a quick phone call to have some late night fun.

In normal, 'polite' society, I'm known as Alice Roselia, but in the Underground world I'm the Rabbit. Though my face is often hidden by a baseball cap, or a hood from my sweater, you can always tell it's me by the white rabbit tattoo on my right hip. Since my clothes are slightly revealing, it's always seen. Growing up, people always thought of me as the perfect daughter, the perfect student, the perfect example of a human being. One person can only take so much pressure to be perfect before they..well..snap. No, I'm not crazy, and no, I'm not a killer. To relieve some of the pressures from my perfect life, I delved into the Underground world. The land of fights, drugs and sex. The secret world, hidden from the eyes of the 'perfect' society. When in the Underground world, I can be myself. The witty, charming, and sarcastic me. The stubborn girl who'll pick a fight with anyone for just looking at her wrong. The girl who could kick ass any day of the week. I usually try to keep my normal life, and my secret life equal, but lately I've taken to the Underground. I'm fond of watching the fights, particularly because one man seems to dominate every opponent. I've been watching him the past couple of months, seeing his reaction to his popularity, intrigued by his scars, where most girls shy away.
The fight had been amazing. Quite the show. As usual, Flame won. So far, he'd won every match. Alice enjoyed seeing the brilliant show he put on, the seriousness in his fighting, the aggressiveness behind every punch he threw. Since joining the Underground world of the city, just two months prior, Alice came to see every fight. She was intrigued by Flame, the man with the scars. She was still relatively new the the city's underground scene, and didn't know the story behind his beautiful scars. In all honesty, the scene she witnessed in this new underground world, was a lot different from the one back in her old city. This one was more focused on the fighting, the other parts fading into the background. People made more money from the fights than anything else. For the first time, she actually felt like betting on the fight. She made a mental note to bring money with her next time. Looking down at her watch, she sighed. It was time to leave the underground world, to return back to her perfect reality. Adjusting her black baseball cap, some red locks fell from underneath. Quickly tucking them back under, she pushed through the crowd and hurried to the streets. She needed to be home before her parents noticed she wasn't in her bed, sleeping. Reaching the fairly empty streets, Alice took a deep breath. The one thing she hated about the underground, was the stale, smokey air. Looking down the road, she noticed that not a single car was in sight. Sighing, she began to walk down the wet, streets. By the time she got back into her warm room, it would be time for her to wake up and get ready for school.

After a much needed shower Flame heard a knock on his door, knowing exactly who it was he threw on a wife beater and wrapped a towel around his nether region. Opening the door Zane rested his head against his arm, smirking he eyed the woman at his entrance.
She wasn't the prettiest hooker he's ever had but she would do, moving aside he was about to let her in when she began to complain about his appearance. Loosing his smirk Zane replaced it with a tic of his jaw, closing his eyes and frowned and slammed the door in the woman's face.
Walking back to his room he finished changing, while the howls of the woman sang through the cheap walls. Switching off the light he fell onto his bed and watched as the lights of passing cars flashed across his walls, raising his scarred hand Zane inspected the appendage and laughed darkly. "Stupid wench I don't a f**k what anyone thinks about my scars."

Alice had made a ten minute walk last for twenty minutes as she dragged her feet. She really didn't want to go home, the excitement of the fight scene still fresh in her mind. The movements displayed by both fighters, the crowd pushing and shoving to get a better view of who won. The adrenaline.
As she passed some older looking buildings, Alice could almost sense the presence of another being, someone behind her, walking just as slowly as she was. Glancing over her shoulder briefly, she began to pick up her pace. She could hear the person behind her pick up their pace as well. Looking forward, intent on getting out of this area as soon as possible, she saw that another being was waiting up ahead. She could have taken on the one following her, if he had been alone...but two on one was not a fight she was willing to bet on.
Making a move to cross the street, both men began to converge on her. They both came together at a point, right behind her, pushing her against the wall. "UGH!" Her forehead bounced off the brick wall, splitting the skin on the rough edges. "Are you guys sure you want to do this?"
The guy to her left laughed, while the other one put some pressure on the middle of her back. She could feel a sharp pain going up her spine. She was almost paralyzed with pain, and suddenly her adrenaline kicked in. However, instead of trying to fight them off, she took a deep breath and expelled a shrill scream. She could only hope that someone in these parts heard her.

Starting to nod of to sleep, Zane felt his eyes sprang open as a piercing scream hit his ears. Pacing over to the window he looked down at the empty street. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, but as he was turning around his eyes caught movement off to the far right.
Moving closer to get a better look he noticed two guys holding a woman hostage, shrugging he was about to lie down when he knew he would regret it. Scoffing he slipped back on his leather hooded jacket and exited his apartment, two seconds later he was standing not to far off from the trio. "You guys have some nerve, interrupting my sleep."
He spat out glaring at the two, placing his hands in his pockets he never once took his eyes off of the guys, "I'll give you two until the count of three to move your asses."

Alice was sure that no one was going to come to her aid, and she was willing to just let things happen as they may. However, she was quite shocked when she heard the voice of a third man. He seemed rather pissed. Twisting her head to the left so she could see who had come to her rescue, she saw the same blonde haired man from the fight. Honestly, it was his scars that gave him away.
She felt the pressure on her back increase, as the man on her right leaned against her, pinning her completely against the wall, while the man on her left moved to confront Flame.
"Butt out, ugly." The man had a cocky smile plastered on his visage, clearly not knowing who he was speaking to. Alice bit her bottom lip, both to take her mind off the pain in her back, and hiding the cringe she felt coming on at the comment.
"Hey! Why don't y-" She couldn't finish her sentence, because the man behind her had clasped his hand over her mouth. "Pretty girls should be keep their mouth shut if they know what's good for them." Alice rolled her eyes. If Flame was alright with taking on the cocky asshole, Alice had no problems taking on the idiot behind her.

Getting a twitch in his eye Zane pinched the bridge of his nose, glaring at the man he took one step forward and grabbed the man roughly by the throat. "You shouldn't have said that," Zane said menacingly before throwing the guy head first into the wall. Listening to the sickening crack brought a wicked grin to his face, picking the man back up he watched the blood drip from his hair line.
Tilting his head he stared at the other man who was holding the girl, "I don't know what the f**k you two were thinking of attacking an unarmed woman but that was dumb. Most importantly you idiots woke me up, no you have to pay the consequences."

The man behind Alice loosened his pressure on her, not entirely sure of what he just witnessed. This gave her the opportunity she would have had, had it just been one man after her. Twisting the best she could, she connected her elbow with the mans chest, briefly knocking the wind out of him. She then proceeded to bring her knee up to connect with his stomach. The man was doubled over, clutching his stomach, so Alice brought her elbow down on his back, knocking him to the ground. Now sprawled on the ground, the man groaned in pain. Obviously, he had come to the conclusion that she just wasn't worth the effort.
"Get out of here asshole, and don't forget your friend." As the man stumbled to get up, Alice kicked the guy, just for good measure. Walking over his pained body, she stepped closer to Flame. "Thanks," she looked up at his face, and gave a small smile, "for the help I mean. Two against one just isn't fair."

Ignoring the girl's smile Zane turned to walk away, "it shouldn't matter how many there are. It just shows how weak you are, the faster you start realizing life isn't fair the better chance of you actually surviving in this world." Disappearing back into his run down place Zane tore off his jacket, and then fell back on his bed and waited for sleep to come.

Alice stood in the street, staring at Flame's retreating form. Weak? She was not weak. Did he miss the amount of pain she caused the guy? Clearly his eye sight was affected by whatever had given him those burns. After he disappeared into the building, Alice continued on her own way, vowing that the next night, Flame would eat his words.
When Alice got home, she climbed the tall maple tree next to her window, and launched herself back into her room, noiselessly. She kicked off her shoes and stuffed them under her bed, tossed her baseball cap onto her desk, and climbed into bed, making sure the covers...covered...everything.
Closing her eyes, she waited for the sound of her father's foot steps to the bathroom, which would be followed by her mother's foot steps coming to her room. A knock sounded from the door, and in walked her mother. Helen Roselia was a lovely woman. Bright red hair, and smokey gray eyes. A sight to behold, and the envy of the neighborhood.
"Wake up, darling. You've got school." Alice fluttered her eyes open, feigned a yawn and looked at her mother. Thanks to the climb into her window, and the number of layers she currently had on, Alice's face was hot and clammy. "I don't feel well mother. I think I may have a fever." Her mother placed a dainty, tanned hand on her forehead. "Oh, dear. You're burning up." Alice smiled mentally. "I'll call your school, and tell them you won't be coming in. I'll call Doctor Lark as well. Make you an appointment for tomorrow morning." Now Alice gave herself a mental kick. At least by the morning, she could say she was feeling better. "Alright mother."
When her mother left, Alice got up and quickly changed into her pajamas, then climbed back into bed. She was tired, and as soon as her head hit the pillow, she was fast asleep.
