Vivienne looked at the other royals and saw none of them were ready to speak, so she spoke up she was quite interested in listening to a story. "Grace us with a story please, I'm very curious to hear how the stories differ here from Meridian."

Taking a deep breath Lillica began her tale, "on moonless nights some have said to hear a weeping woman in the meadow behind the castle. At the witching hour is when she is said to appear, she wails and wails for her lost love. He was said to have been a Prince of a neighbouring kingdom, but as life is a cruel fate they could never be together. She was born a commoner and he was born a royal, which damned their fate from the beginning."
Pausing Lillica let her eyes slowly scan the crowd, as to draw them into her story. Only to pause a little longer on the prince then she intended to, "with a damned fate that did not stop the pair from meeting on moonless nights in the meadow behind the castle. In fact it was this very castle they met behind, night after moonless night the two would meet. Until one night the prince never came, the woman waited and waited but her love never came. Same with the next night she waited for him but he never showed, several months had gone by like that until the woman so distraught gave up waiting for him." Lillica paused for more of a dramatic effect, she waited to see if anyone would urge her to continue.

Slightly bored by the story Vivienne yawned and rested her palm on her cheek, "please continue on with this more tragic then scary tale."

Demetrius gave the princess a sideways glance, knowing she wouldn't see it from where he stood. He was disappointed that she was not enjoying the entertainment, whereas he, himself, was very interested in the end of this very nearly doomed tale. "Yes, please do." There was an enthusiasm in his voice, that was usually absent unless he was conversing about his travels.

Sharply turning her head, she was quite shocked to hear the glee in his voice. Turning back to the woman before them, Vivienne almost felt like she had to defend her honour, to be with the prince which was absolutely crazy.

Hearing the prince encourage her Lillica continued the story, "a day after she had given up she was ordered to work at the castle for an event the royal's were having. She was asked to sing for the neighbouring kingdoms, which excited her because then she would be able to see her love. The room was packed and the woman sang her heart out, that was until she saw her love embracing another woman so plainly in front of her. She couldn't continue the song so she ran out of the room tears streaming down her face, she ignored all of the jarring comments and laughter sent her. She ran out to the stables and cried in the hay, but still she could see him being affectionate with the woman. Distraught with grief she grabbed a long rope that kept the horse in one place, ran out to the field to that tree climbed it and hung herself. She made sure everyone in the hall could see what had happened." Lillica finished loudly with her hands around her throat, turning so her back was toward them she bowed her head.
"Now that's not where the story finishes, the prince was visibly shaken at the woman's death. Hiding it he vowed to name his first daughter after her, which he did the child was a very beautiful girl. She looked like her mother but acted like her father, it was several years after he saw his old lover die. She wasn't on his mind until he heard her voice in his sleep, waking up in a cold sweat the man was faced with the dead woman in his bed. Not thinking he grabbed his sword and plunged it into the woman's chest, grinning like a fool the man jumped out of bed breathing a sigh of relief. That was until he heard a choked sob from the doorway, he turned to see his daughter with tears in her eyes. Not understanding why she was crying he turned to the bed and saw his beloved wife dead by his sword."
Turning back to face them Lillica smiled sadly, "yet the story doesn't end there. Oh no it does not, the prince swore his innocent saying it was the dead woman he had killed. Yet no one believed him and he was sentenced to death, not wanting to die the prince ran away from the kingdom. Only to find himself in that very meadow by that very tree. Now this the story gets kind of hazy, some say he hung himself others say that the royal guards killed him and then hung his dead body. The man was killed, but he didn't do it and the guards didn't do it. The ghost of his old love was the one who killed him, so every night she wails not because she lost her love but it was because she got her bittersweet revenge."

Looking around Vivienne saw no one clapped and she wasn't going to, because the story held little interest for her. It was sad but boring she wanted to hear something else, "sing us a song hopefully it wont be as lacklustre as that story."

Demetrius pursed his lips, in an attempt to keep from saying something offensive. "Yes, share with us a song." It wasn't all that surprising that the King would put his two cents into the matter. Even the Queen gave a nod of her head.

Pausing to think Lillica drew in a breath and began to softly sing, song she once heard her mother sing about her father. It depicted him as a fierce king who protected his family and kingdom no matter what.
" Out of the mist of history He'll come again Sailing on ships across the sea To a wounded Nation
Signs of a saviour Like fire on the water It's what we prayed for One of our own
Just wait Though wide he may roam Always A hero comes home He goes where no one has gone But always A hero comes home
Deep in the heart of darkness sparks A dream of light Surrounded by hopelessness He finds the will to fight
There's no surrender Always remember It doesn't end here We're not alone
Just wait Though wide he may roam Always A hero comes home He goes where no one has gone But always A hero comes home
And he will come back on the crimson tide Dead or alive And even though we know the bridge has burned He will return He will return
Just wait Though wide he may roam Always A hero comes home He knows of places unknown Always A hero comes home
Someday they'll carve in stone "The hero comes home"
He goes and comes back alone But always A hero comes home
Just wait Though wide he may roam Always A hero comes home"

"That was beautiful," came Vivienne's voice in but a whisper. Even though she felt jealous of the way the prince treated this woman, Vivienne had enough pride to admit when someone was very talented.
